From the introduction text of STAY BETWEEN THE LINES: “The bold lines of Sara Vermeylen dart through the shadow side of an imaginary volcanic mountain range. Distorted torsos and hyperextended fingers tell a story of extreme self-control. While the drawings hit you directly in the face, the minimalistic style serve as a coat of nonchalance to protect you from feeling too exposed. Through an air of curiosity and compassion, you linger between voyeurism and catharsis.
